The Heatmiser DT is our 230v, digital room thermostat,
ideal for conventional or combi-boiler systems. This thermostat can be used to
replace a mechanical thermostat.
The following features are available;
Programmable versus Non Programmable We would
always suggest that you consider using a programmable thermostat as it gives
overall better level of control, allowing you to set the various comfort levels
throughout the day. For those wanting a simple digital thermostat, then the DT
model is fine. The Heatmiser DT features key-lock allowing you to finally
stop the fiddling !
Mounting: This thermostat is flush
mounting, and therefore requires a back box sunk in the wall to accommodate the
terminal box for the thermostat. We suggest a back box of 35mm
Frequently Asked
Questions:
Q Can I replace my existing
mechanical thermostat with the Heatmiser DT:
A You need to check the number of
wires you have behind your existing thermostat. If you have three, not
counting the earth, then the DT can be used as a replacement. (You should
note that the DT will be powered from your existing timeclock, and therefore
the display will go blank during the timed off periods)
Q I only have two wires, do you have
an alternative thermostat ?
A Unfortunately not. All our
thermostats are mains powered and so this would require three wires minimum
Q I have checked and I do have three
wires, can you explain what these are ?
A These wires are known as Live
(Red), Neutral (Blue) and Switch Live (Yellow) The Live and Neutral is
used to power the thermostat. The switch wire becomes live when there is a
demand for heat. (You should always check the colour coding used by the
original installer)
Q I have a combi boiler. Can I use
this thermostat ?
A Yes, you would have two
connections from the boiler which would connect across our A1, A2 terminals.
Live and Neutral would be connected as usual. (4 wires required for this
installation)
Terminal Options:
Standard 230v - Select this terminal
output if your supply power is 230v and you require a switch live or boiler
control circuit. You should have 3 or 4 wires at the thermostat (not counting
earth)
Changeover - Select this terminal
output if your supply power is 230v and you have a valve that needs power to
open, and power to close.
Standard 110v - Select this terminal
output if your supply power is 110v and you require a switch live or boiler
control circuit.
