Upgrading your Existing Thermostat and selecting the Terminal Output
1. Firstly, check that you have at least three wires (excluding the earth) behind your existing stat. If you have, the PRT is compatible.

2. Our changeover terminal option is for those controlling a valve that needs power to open and power to close. If you are simply controlling a boiler, just select the standard model.

3. Our DT thermostat is flush mounting, so a back box 35mm deep, will need to be installed in the wall.

Q: Can you please let me know how i select the Terminal Output:type on the web page, it is grayed out. I require a thermostat which will power your In-Line Wax Valve - Heatmiser VAL-012.

  4. Advantages of Electronic Thermostats

Posted by David on 27th Sep 2009

Q - After reading your article I would like to replace my existing 30 year old mechanical thermostat Satchwell TLX 2259 with a modern programmable electronic thermostat. The system is micro-bore and has a separate timer control unit and electrically driven heating system and hot water circuit motorised zone valves that appear to only need power to open Honeywell V4043.
Do I need standard or changeover output please?

A - You will need standard terminals.

  5. terminal output

Posted by Berni on 27th Jul 2009

Q: Hi do i need standard or changeover output when replacing mechanical thermostat thanks b nicholson

A: You need to check the cables behind your existing thermostat and check the appliance you are switching. The changeover type is required when you have a valve that requires power to open and power to close.
