Product Questions

  1. heat anticipator

Posted by Unknown on 6th Sep 2010

Q - Does the heatmiser PRT have a heat anticipator in it to allow the temp to be maintained?

A - It does not have a heat anticipator, however it is so accurate it would maintain the heating within 1ºC

  2. Meaning of Terminal Output

Posted by Steve on 1st Sep 2010

Q - What is the difference between 'standard' and 'changeover' with regard to Terminal Output?

A - Standard terminal ouput gives you a signal only on demand.
Changeover terminals give you a signal when the thermostat is not calling for heat as well as when it is calling for heat.
You would normally only need a change over contact if the thermostat was controlling a power open/close valve. In most cases the standard terminals would suffice for enabling a boiler

  3. Mounting on a wall

Posted by Igor on 3rd Aug 2010

Q - Do you have some kind of mounting kit for PRT-TS or it has to be in wall mounting box?

A - The thermostat is designed to be sunk into the wall (flush mounted), we sell dry lining back boxes as well as metal back boxes for brick walls.

  4. Towel rail

Posted by Dave on 14th Jul 2010

Q - Is there a facility for the thermostat to allow the heating to come on to allow towel rails to heat up even in summer?

A - If the thermostat was working under it's normal program then the heating would come on according to the switching times and temperatures you input.
If you put the thermostat into frost protection (summer mode) it would not bring the heating on unless the room temperature got below your frost temperature setting 7-17ºC.

  5. Suitable for Halstead Eden CBX32?

Posted by Dave on 30th Jun 2010

Q; I have an existing boiler installation with no external thermostat. In the boiler instructions it states

"If a programmer/room thermostat is to be fitted remove the red link between L2 and L3 and connect the device across these terminals. Any external controls fitted must be rated at 230V 50Hz and have volt free contacts."

Can you please confirm that the PRT-TS is compatible with this.
A: This model does have a set of volt free contacts for this kind of installation.

  6. Boost option?

Posted by Paul on 21st Jun 2010

Q: Hi, does this thermostat have a boost option, to extend the program by 1 hour for example?
A: The stat has a temperature hold function to maintain a certain temperature for a set period.

  7. electric underfloor heating

Posted by Unknown on 10th May 2010

Q: Can the PRT-TS be used for electric underfloor heating and does it come with a floor probe?

A: No, you need to use the PRT-ETS model

  8. UFH actuators

Posted by matthew trounce on 31st Mar 2010

Q:Is the PRT-TS compatible with all standard actuators or does it require a specific type of actuator?

A: The output from the thermostat is a switch. It can handle up to 3A at 230v. A live connection to A2, would give a live switch on A2 on a demand.

  9. Color

Posted by Andrew on 28th Sep 2009

Q - Do you sell the coloured plastic fronts as a separate accessory, so that they can be changed if required to match changes in decor?

A - Yes, the coloured cases are available to buy, however we wouldn't recommend changing the case yourself as you could damage the touchscreen if not done properly.

  10. Supply

Posted by Stacey on 2nd Aug 2009

Q: Does this unit requir a seperate mains supply as our existing thermostat has ony a 2 wire live feed

A: Yes, this thermostat requires a 230v supply. The thermostat you require is a battery powered type, or an upgrade to your thermostat wiring.
